100th Bauhaus Anniversary Water Bottle edition
The design of this water bottle marks 100th anniversary of Bauhaus and pays homage to the women who studied there. Although Bauhaus accepted women as students, they didn’t have the same rights as men.
While men studied painting, sculpture and architecture, women were limited to weaving. Bauhaus leaders believed that women could only see two dimensions while men could see three. These women were capable of making beautiful artwork out of fabric and combined materials, colours and forms. The graphics on this bottle were inspired by one of the great women of the Bauhaus, Anni Albers.
Therefore when designing the bottle it was essential to use the geometric shapes of a circle, square and triangle present in Bauhaus art. The bottom of the bottle is a quarter of a circle, with the same radius in both sizes of bottle. Four bottles compose a full circle. On the flat edge there is a square and on the top is a triangle.
